Nothing. Everything was terrible.
I don't like all of the service they provided. Actually, no service. And too much overpricing for such a crapy room.
The location is near city area and easy to go around.
Hotel has cigarette smell although the room is non-smoking. The bedsheet is dirty & torn. I stayed there for 3 nights. There was no TV remote control at the first night. I requested them and they gave me. On the 3rd night, it was lost again. I called to the reception twice but they did not give it. I have been waiting for 1 hour. At last I went down to the reception. The staff said that they keep it whenever they do housekeeping as they lost many TV remote controls. It is impossible & abnormal for the guests to request them to give the TV remote control every day.
It is just in the city and have many food stalls.
I stayed in on the 4th floor Room 423, the room has high content of heavy moisture , too wet and not comfortable to sleep in.
Hotel 81 is a budget hotel in a very expensive real estate city..so it is in the less tourist frequented area. The local food courts were a good experience and the local people were very friendly.Although out of the way a bit, all tourists need a tourist pass to get around on the public transport anyway, so that is not a great issue. The staff were excellent.Rooms were made up every day.Showering was a bit funny to me (asian style) and the water was luke warm at a stretch.
The location is good with only 15 minutes walk to the MRT train station. Also, there were plenty of local food stalls and hawkers just outside the hotel.
The wifi was not friendly as it seeks for authentication every few minutes. The staff were rude too.
Comfort, facilities are extremely poor. It does not deserve to be classified as a 2 stars hotel
Staff not helpful, small , noisey
Not much noise as compared to certain areas where hotels are located. Clean & good service. Good location with food court opposite the hotel & shops right underneath.
Not much movie channels to watch except for sports channels & no remote controls for some of the rooms.
Meeting Mr. Peter. He allowed me to add an extra bed for only S$20 per night while the younger staff made me take another room for S$100 per night! He is aa very nice and warm guy. All the younger staffs should have learned from him how to treat their guests right.
One younger evening shift male reception staff. He pushed me to take an additional room. So, I took 2 tiny (all the same size) rooms for 3 persons at the rate of S$200 per night with no breakfast and no free wifi! Should be able to get more with that. I only get free wifi from online booking. I don't like one morning shift male reception staff too. He didn't say anything back to me when I thanked him for their service, didn't even bother looking at me :(
reasonable price and good location
minimal facilities. we were required to pay in full up front which we didn't expect from the booking information. The booking confirmation stated internet connection was free throughout the hotel; hotel tried to charge extra.
The Internet was great speed and quality.
It was very basic and a poor value for the cost. Standard rooms lack windows and the bed was uncomfortable.
overall cleanliness was very good.Functionally good hotel without any frills. All the good eating places walking distance away.MRT & Bus stops within 10/12 mins walking distances.Good for vacationers & even for self paying/self employed professionals who seek cleanliness & basic facilities-Waman Joglekar
handy for meals
No WiFi, TV without remote control
I really liked the hotel's convenient location and easy access to a variety of food, convenience stores and internet shops. Also, I found the staff to be quite helpful and friendly, which made my stay more pleasant.
The Hotel does not offer breakfast and does not have a Business Centre, for those traveling without a laptop. However, I found this was not a major problem given that there are many restaurants (that open up early in the morning) and internet shops surrounding the hotel.
There's a lot food court around the hotel, and the best is they open for 24 hours.
The wall is so thick, so when the guest in the next room laughing with a big sound, its so annoying..
